  1. If I was the author I would end the story with John Henry fainting and wakes up in his bed so he will recover in a few weeks. I wish he was alive and real because he was a caring and loving person to everyone. This is Kasey!

John Henry reminds me of Rosa Parks. because rosa parks fought of the bus seat and didn't just give up she fought for it just like John Henry fought to keep his job. i am glad he challenged the salesman otherwise he would have got fired for nothing because the drill could only dig 9 feet . John Henrys hammer dug 14 feet!! i think that is amazing!!!

  12. If I was the author, I would have a mysterious ending. I would have John Henry walk away after beating the machine....never to be seen or heard from again. Then everyone would talk an wonder about what happened to him. Alyshia S.

  15. BA: I thought it was interesting how John Henry was born with a hammer, and the next day he was an 8 foot tall man. I wonder if the reason why he was so strong was because he was born with a Hammer? If I would have changed the end of this story, I would have ended the story with how John Henry won the the steam-powered drill contest, and he would not have died at the end.
